Job Title:              SUPPORT STAFF (front desk, attendance & health center) 
Salary:                   $26,000 - $28,000 DOE
This is a full time, 11 month position from August 1 ? June 31.  7:00am ? 4:00pm
Support Staff is the first contact the public has with the school.  Support staff is expected to act in such a manner as to make the first impression a positive one.  It is imperative that the person employed in this position display, at all times, acceptable professional and ethical standards.  These expectations include:  confidentiality, courtesy, cooperation, positive attitude, reliability, punctuality, accuracy, efficiency, timeliness in respect to deadlines and respectfulness to others.  Support Staff comes in contact with the students, healthy or ill and is expected to act in such a manner as to discern the degree of illness and medical care for each student.  Support Staff is also expected to take attendance each hour to discern student?s whereabouts.  Be familiar with and follow all FERPA (Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act) and HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) laws and requirements. 
Reports to:  Support Staff reports directly to the School Office Manager
Qualifications:
·         Under general supervision, performs routine-to-moderately complex clerical and/or secretarial work to ensure the efficient and effective office operations
·         Must be team oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
·         Focuses on problem solving; maintaining confidentiality; listening to others; having a two way dialog; remaining open to others? ideas and contributing to building a positive team spirit
·         Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional in an environment with frequent interruptions
·         Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
·         Strong organizational skills, exercise independent judgment, prioritize tasks, as well as the ability to handle multiple projects professionally and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
·         Knowledge of:
o   Office practices, procedures, equipment, computers, telephone etiquette, and letter writing
·         Proficient in computer skills (word, excel, Microsoft Office, & student management system)
·         Have a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by DPS
·         Have a valid CPR and First Aid certificate
Duties:
·         Greet all guests entering the office area
·         Maintain appearance of front office (quiet, clean) and desk area (clear); health center
·         Be responsible for all incoming calls and direct calls/messages accordingly
·         Respond to inquiries and request for information and assistance from the parents and the general public
·         Use independent judgment in determining urgency of meeting with school personnel or administrators; referring all guest to appropriate offices or school personnel
·         Sort and distribute mail daily
·         Print out replacement ID?s for student and staff
·         Track student ID violations and send out email to parents of students who have had an ID violation
·         Timely create, maintain, and accurately update online school calendar
·         Input daily announcements in PowerSchool
·         Order and maintain inventory of office , teacher, and health center supplies
·         Maintain and troubleshoot equipment in the office (copiers, fax, postage machine); liaison with copier company technicians
·         Maintain necessary forms in the office
·         Collect monies from students, parents, teachers, and clubs
·         Serve as ASAPC Liaison; Volunteer coordinator
·         Contact volunteers as needed for specific events as directed by the School Office Manager
·         Keep a log of all volunteer hours
·         Set up document shredding 2x/year
·         Facilitate all school mailing and produce mailing labels, as requested
·         Provide Edline support for parents
·         Assist with beginning and end of the year processes; student file processing; updating and transfer of academic permanent records and transcripts
·         Send out messages via Blackboard as directed by School Office Manager
·         Disperse forms, school photos, etc to teachers for student distribution
·         Assist with preparation of documents for yearly audit
·         Immunization clinic ? arrange date and volunteers; distribute information
·         Daily attendance monitoring including:
o   Oversee the period/daily attendance for accuracy
o   Check messages for students called out absent/late
o   Make calls to parents regarding absences; prepare attendance letters
o   Manage attendance records for student entry and exit from campus during school hours (e.g. admission slips, late notices, class release forms, etc.)
o   Maintain a variety of attendance records, schedules, and files (manual and digital) (e.g. contact and telephone logs, students attendance, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or providing reliable information; researching discrepancies before processing
o   Assist Vice Principal in truancy reporting; truancy letters
o   Maintain immunization records in both student files and PowerSchool, prepare state immunization report
·         Administer first aid and prescription medications to students; monitor the triage/health center
·         Monitor students reporting to sick bay and promptly; report the illness to the parent
·         Maintain documentation for students with chronic illnesses/health issues
